Parkview on the Commons

The Development Group of Parkview-on-the-Commons, Westborough CC, LLC, retained Conner Design & Suffolk Construction as a design-build team to deliver a 44 unit, one and two-bedroom condominium building that would blend into the architecture of the nearby historic district and sit at the gateway of the Bay State Commons, a shopping village within the Town of Westborough, Massachusetts.  At the onset of their involvement in the project, Conner Design was presented with a schematic plan that had already been approved by the town and rose to the challenge of solving a myriad of problems beginning with a plan rife with troubles while staying within the parameters of a permitted footprint and aesthetics to generate code compliant & detailed construction documents.  The design team conceived and successfully implemented unconventional details to accommodate such already specified products as a vinyl window system with nailing flanges typically used in new wood-frame construction and not as suitable for the masonry cavity-wall construction.  By the project's completion, the scope of work included a complete redesign of all residential unit layouts and rationalization of the structural design and mechanical plan.
